Tips for Visiting Before Your Visit
You will receive a written confirmation with pre and post-visit materials. These materials are also available online in the Teacher Guides section.
Prepare your students for a visit to a museum, walking tour or historic house.
Review proper behavior when visiting a museum.
View our website with your students to learn the history of the Fairfield Historical Society and to preview our exhibits.
During Your Visit
Give students an assignment or things to look for.
Encourage students to notice and predict.
Adequately supervise your students.
After Your Visit
Review post-visit materials and present to your group.
Discuss with your group their impressions about the tour;
Did they learn something new?
Were they surprised by anything?
Compare and contrast some of the objects and stories from the tour with students’ lives today.
Create a class project or writing assignment to research more about your topic.
