Copying and Printing
A copier/printer is available for the use of our registered patrons in the library lobby.

The following fees apply:
Non-Members: $.25/page
Museum Members: $.15/page

The copier/printer is self-service. We rely on the honor system for collecting the copying and printing fees: please leave your payment in the drop box provided in the library lobby.

What to Copy
Feel free to copy from volumes found in the reading rooms, as long as they are in good condition and were printed after 1920.

In order to prevent spine breaks, bound materials must be placed on the glass single-paged. Please position the volume on the copier maintaining a 130-degree angle between the open covers at all times.

What Not to Copy
Volumes printed before 1920, fragile items regardless of age, as well as all Special Collections items including manuscripts and church books, photographs, and maps cannot be photocopied under any circumstances. If you need a copy of such an item, you may use our photoduplication services. Please consult with staff for details.

Permission to photocopy is in all cases at the discretion of the staff. If you are unsure what to copy, please ask the reference librarian on duty for assistance.

NOTICE: WARNING CONCERNING COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS
The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.

Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement.

This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
